Early second extension

Post by bhatti_pk » Thu Apr 17, 2014 4:55 pm

Dear experts ,

I came to Uk after 05 months so to complete 05 years for ILR, I have to go for second extension.

My visa is going to expire on 19 December 2014 and my ILR is due on 16 April 2015.

I have to get Turkish Visa, and also I’m planning to getting married in September / October time. Shall I go for second extension in May 2014; is there any specific rule for early extension?

Please guide!

You can't apply before 28 days as per current rules. Also, are you going to get 2nd marriage ?

NO, it's a first marriage :-)

Could you please send me the link where I can see this "Apply 28 days before expire of VISA rule"?

Sorry for delay reply.

Please do not send us your application more than 28 days before you become eligible to apply. If you do, we may refuse your application with no refund of the application fee (if a fee is charged for your application type). However, you must make your application before your current permission to stay in the UK expires.

We encourage you to make your application at least 28 days before your current permission to stay expires. However, if you apply significantly more than 28 days before your permission to stay expires, we may refuse your application with no refund of the application fee.

This bit is confusing, few members are saying this rule is only for ILR , few members are saying this rule is for ILR and extension both.

I have checked few friends, they said for early extensions, you have to give them a reason in cover letter.

I'm not sure for this rule, I have decided to apply before 28 days of expire then :(

I'm eligible for ILR on 4 of April 2015.

My visa going to expire in December, I need another extension anyway, so I was thinking to get it now.

could you please provide me the link where homeoffice has mentioned that we can apply early for extensions?
