urgent. can IFA certified accountant issue income letter ?

Am applying for tier1 extension and have to submit accountant letter. can IFA certified accountant issue income letter ? This accountant qualification is AFA. is it valid . pls help . he writes his name as Mr XYZ, AFA , membership no: 234888.
