English Language Clarified!

Post by anandh79 » Thu May 08, 2014 5:29 pm

Hi,

Please see this site.
https://www.gov.uk/english-language

I have a confusion on these para.

Degrees taught or researched in English
You’ll need to prove your degree was both:

taught or researched in English
confirmed by UK NARIC as the equivalent of a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree in the UK
You’ll need to provide your original degree certificate and 1 of the following:

a printout from the points-based calculator with the equivalent level of your degree and the level of English
an original letter or certificate from UK NARIC confirming the equivalent level of your degree, plus an official letter from your university with your name and degree confirming that your degree was taught in English
an original and official certificate from your university confirming the degree was taught or researched in a majority English-speaking country (excepting Canada)

It says you need to prove two points, degree taught and researched in English as well as confirmed by UK NARIC

Does it mean showing my original degree certificate and PBS calculator printout is enough?

Regards
Krish

Yes but there have been some cases reported here where they have asked for NARIC certificate even after PBS print out.

These are old cases and not reported in last 2 months..

One of the guy argued with them that he does not need to send NARIC certificate and won !!

So, in summary in majority caes this is sufficient , if you are unfortunate to be allocated to a case worker who thinks otherwise, fight your case with argument and you will be fine.

I have been successful with PBS print out !!
