Switching Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 general

Original VISA -
Valid from: 06 April 2011
Valid until : 29 April 2014
Number of Entries: MULT
Type: VISA TIER 2 (ICT) ESTABLISHED STAFF
Date entered UK : 11 March 2012

BRP -
Valid until : 20 April 2016
Date of issue: 24 April 2014
Type of Permit: T2 ICT LONG TERM LEAVE TO REMAIN


Q 1. Can I switch to TIER 2 General?
i. If so what is the maximum number of months/years I can get?
ii. Can I switch within UK or do I need to go back to home country and re-apply after cooling period (if any?) ?
ii. Can I apply for ILR at anytime?

Q2. If I remain in TIER 2 ICT, how many times can I extend existing Work Permit if I don't change employer?

Q3. Does the BRP hamper my chance to change employer as "Permit Type" seems different?

I am considering changing employer and want to do my homework before I take the first step and hence seek your help.
