Tier 2 General - Dependent (Traveling during switch)

Post by gschandel » Tue May 13, 2014 10:15 pm

Hi,

I am on Tier 2 General visa and recently finished job with the employer who sponsored my visa. Right now I am waiting for my new employer to complete their recruitment process and provide me the CoS so that I can apply for new Tier2G visa from them.

My wife is on Tier2G-Dependent which was issued within UK. Due to some unavoidable circumstances, she now has to travel to India and may not return before my visa get renewed.

Will there be any problem for her to return to UK with the existing visa she has? I can only apply for her visa's extension once she is back here.

Many Thanks

GS

she can apply for new visa from india.
theoratically speaking, she should be on same dependent visa on whose main visa u are, so can be questioned at airport, once they enter ur previous cos and see it is not valid anymore

Thank you for your help.

You are trying to say that once I obtain the new visa with new CoS, her visa (which is currently valid until end of October this year) will become invalid and she will have to apply for a new visa to return?

If this is the case, could you please guide me on the following then:

1. How much funding I will have to show for her when applying from India?
2. Can I show the funding in UK and how (statement from UK bank on her named account)?
3. Can I give her our marriage certificate to take with her in case she will apply from there? I don't think I will need that here for my visa application.

Again, thank you so much your help and guidance.

Kind regards

yes even though her visa will be valid, it will be invalid as soon as u change ur visa as she is dependent on that visa.

If she was applying within UK for change of empployer dependent applicaiton, she would not have required maintaininace, but since she is applying outside uk, she will need £900 (£945 from July) for 90 days. (someone else to confirm as well)

1. as above.
2. U can give her ur own, or her own uk statement from uk and that will be acceptable.
3. Again, this should not be required as she has been given a dependent visa before. But no harm in attaching again.

Thank you so much. I checked on UKBA and it's £600 for dependent but the fee details have been changed and have become confusing so if anyone can reconfirm the required funding to show for a Tier2 General dependent visa, will be a great help.

Kind regards
