Changeofemployment- how long I can work for current employer

Hi,

I am currently on T2 ICT visa which is valid till 15-10-2014.

But now I am changing my job with another employer (who has sponsored me now ) and new VISA is arrived now and details are as below,

Job start date mentioned on CoS issued by new employer: 01-08-2014
Visa : Tier2 General
Valid from: 15-05-2014
Valid Until: 08-07-1016

So could please guide me for how long I can work with my current employer to complete my notice period?

One more thing is, my Old Biometric residential permit which was valid till 15-10-2014 from current employer is not return by UKBA when I have now receive Approval from them for new application, So can still legal to work with my current employer till 30th-July?

Any help regards this will be much appreciated.

You can work until the start date on your new certificate of sponsorship which in your case is 1st Augu 2014.

Thanks for prompt response, its really helpful.

So I can work till 01-Aug with current employer, even the home office have retained my biometric card issued for that employer.

That's right you can work until the new start date even Home office has your last brp. They have all details in their system.

Navigate to paragraph 202.

202.
It is recommended that you do not commence employment until you have received your
biometric residence permit (BRP). However, on the basis of your approval letter, if you
and your sponsor agree to commence the employment before you have your BRP, both
you and your sponsor carry the risk of having no statutory excuse against a civil penalty if
the BRP card is incorrect or withdrawn by us. You can continue working for your previous
sponsor until the start date on your new Certificate of Sponsorship, provided your previous
leave has not expired
