Marriage on a visit visa

Post by qaim » Mon May 19, 2014 10:54 pm

Could someone kindly help with the following questions?

I am an Indian citizen currently living in Saudi Arabia. I have lived in the UK in the past and now have a visit general visitor visa valid for the next 5 years. I intend to marry a British citizen but I am not sure how to go about it. I don't plan to settle in the UK, at least for now. Can I visit the UK on my existing visa, have my marriage registered legally and then try to have her Saudi visa processed so that she could come and stay with me? If not, should I ask her to visit me here and get married (don't know if the British embassy in Saudi will recognise that, or whether the Saudi law allows that in the first place)?

In case I apply for a marriage visit visa, will my existing 5 years visa be cancelled?

Any help/suggestion will be appreciated.

You're not able to marry in the UK on a visitor visa. Check with the British Consulate in Saudi Arabia regarding a marriage there.
