ILR Success - Tier 2 (General) @ Liverpool PEO 17th May

Post by digitanium » Mon May 19, 2014 12:06 pm

Hi everyone

This forum has been amazing with its wealth of information and kindness of others to share information and their experience.
My application for ILR on Tier 2 (G) route was successful on 17th May @ Liverpool PEO and I'd like to share it with you all.

First EC granted : 13/06/2009
Date entered UK : 13/06/2009
Extension : 23/06/2012
Visa Validity : 28/06/2015

LIUK Test : 05/04/2014
ILR Appointment Booking : 05/04/2014 (paid the old fees)
ILR Application : 17/05/2014 (27days before the qualifying period.)

Timeline
My appointment was at 12pm but arrived earlier since we travelled from London. My wife followed me but she did not apply at the same time. The Liverpool PEO is just 15mins walk from Lime Street Station.

11.15 - Airport style security clearance and given token
11.20 - Called to counter for check-in and entered details to the system
There were only 3 caseworkers at desk already processing 3 other cases at the point of my arrival. So this resulted an hour of wait before I was called up to submit my documents.
12.20 - Documents submitted
The caseworker thanked me for submitting photocopies of all the supporting documents since it made her life easier. I saw another caseworker making photocopies document which somehow might have delayed the overall process for others.
12.30 - Biometrics
1.20 - Decision Letter

The total time from document submission to decision letter was roughly an hour. I suppose my case was rather straightforward since I was employed with the same employer throughout my 5 years Tier 2 visa.

Documents
• Signed original and completed SET (0) Form.
I would highly recommend using PDF Xchange Editor http://www.tracker-software.com/product ... nge-editor to complete your SET 0 form. The free version will do. Just makes your application neat and easy to read.
• Cover letter (to explain all supporting documents submitted and appendix reference to them)
• Appointment sheet (printout of the appointment sheet)
• Payment sheet (printout of the appointment sheet)
• Life in the UK Test Pass certificate
• English Language Speaking & Listening Qualification
• Dates that I have flown in and out of the UK since EC granted (I put it in a table format to show dates in and out - sample letter attached here)
• 1 x Current passport
• 1 x previous expired passport
• 1 x Biometric Residence Permit
• 1 x Current Account Statement covering eleven months period (It is not necessary to submit up to 11 months but I did just because the statement ordered came as a bundle)
• Letter from employer to describe employment based on the nearest applicable SOC Code and confirmation that I am still required for the employment in question (sample letter attached here)
• Letter from employer to confirm absence from work on personal visits (this is to certify the dates that I have been out of country on paid annual holidays, 248days over 5 years period - sample letter attached here)
• Letter from employer to confirm authenticity of payslips (since my paylslips are not generated on company letterhead)
• 3 x latest payslips

The following documents were not submitted but was available with me.
• Employment History Letter from HMRC
• Bank Confirmation of Account Balance
• Copies of P60 from 2012 to 2014
