Need Advise about claiming benefits

Post by Iboubenas » Sat Apr 26, 2014 1:39 am

Hello,

I just applied for the EEA2 and received my COA with right to work.

I lost my job as my visa was finished (EEA FP) and it's only my wife (EU CITIZEN) working now.

We got 1 year old twins.

So she is planning to apply for housing benefit and council tax benefit. She is getting right now only child benefit on her name.

The problem is we are wondering if claiming these housing benefit and council tax benefit will not affect my Application in process now and also in the future the Permanent Residence Application?

we went to seek advice from the council and they have told us that she can apply for it in her mane only without putting me.

But I'm still not sure, that's why I came here to seek advice again.

Thanks in advance

Needs to be in joint names. Claim tax credits in joint names too.

Thanks mate for your quick reply,

so are you saying that claiming the housing benefit and council tax benefit will not affect any of my applications?
