SET O form doubts

Post by tripas33 » Wed May 21, 2014 9:12 pm

Hello Firends,
I got appointment in first week of June , while filling the form I am facing few difficulties for the below questions..It will be of great help if you all can guide...Many thanks.

6.1 When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This
refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at the beginning
of the period of stay on which this application is based. ?

My first entry in UK was on Nov 2008 , but for continuous 5 year period I am counting from June 2009 till June 2014. I am doing this so I break the 10 months absence into two. There was no absence from Nov 2008 to June 2009..What should I put in for the question above in the form ?

7.11. How long have you lived in the UK? Years Months
Please provide details of any periods of absence of more than 6 months during that time.

Where should I count from for this above query , from Nov 2008 or June 2009 ?
If I count from Nov 2008 , I will have to mention the absence of more than 6 months in the same question.
But for continuous period I am counting from June 2009 so I break the 10 months absence into two.

C1. Please confirm that you have not been absent from the United Kingdom for more than 180
days in any 12 consecutive months during the specified period of continuous leave:
I have not been absent for more than 180 days in any 12 consecutive months during the
specified period of continuous leave.

Since I am counting from June 2009 , can I tick 'yes' for the above as there is no absence for 180 days in the 5 year calculated period.

Many Thanks Friends,
Tripas

Hi,

If you entered UK with the same visa for e.g. tier 1 which you are still on then I would put the November date and explain this and the long break in the covering letter. Can't see any alternative to this situation.

Best wishes.

Thanks Mr.Mhkhan.

I entered UK on Tier-2 visa on deputation in Nov 2008. Switched to Tier -1 in Ocotber 2009.
No absence between Nov 2008 and October 2009.
So for 5 year period , I need to consider Tier 2 + Tier 1 as I am counting from June 2009.

I still see the covering letter explanation to be the only viable option. Don't know much, am afraid.

This question is common for all.
My current category is Tier-1 (G)

Hi Tripas,

Can you please confirm the outcome of your application? Actually I have gone through your case which is similar to mine. I am curious to know the result. I hope it has been approved.

Thanks

Hi tripas33,

So what date you have actually entered in that field? (6.1 When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This
refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at the beginning
of the period of stay on which this application is based. ?)

And which PEO you have been?

Thanks

Hello Mate,

I had put the entry date as 1st Nov 2008 as it was my entry into UK before the start of 5 years of continuous period , which I counted from June 2009.

For me the case worker counter 5 years backwards from my date of application hence I think the date in this section is not taken into account for calculation by the case worker.

I got my ILR approved from Croydon PEO.

Thanks for your guidance and suggestions.
Reg,
Tripas
