strange and worrying if your was the straight forward case, HO should have given you the reason for this. please share the detail if you know.

Dear Deboye13

Sorry to hear that they refuse your application with no valid reason :

can we know what was your time line ?

I can tell you that HO are some times do very strange clerical mistake ( intentionally or with out deliberate intention ...God Knows ).. One of my friend got his out come of his ILR application to the college address where he studied last time ...his story is also very worrying me that what HO is doing ...so after listening your one its seems they might did some clerical mistakes that they forget to tell you the reason ?

In my friend case he had applied for his ILR on 25th Aug 2013 through solicitor and unfortunately after six month of application he didn't hear any thing from HO .....some how on 26th March 2014 he checked his email inbox he found the email from his previous college which they actually wrote him on 14th feb 2014 saying that your ILR out come documents comes to us so kindly collect it from us ....i was accompained with him to his previous college just to be on safe side ...College handed over him his refusal letter saying : " name of his college " applied on your behalf ???......... any how we collected his refusal letter from college ...we were surprise that how can HO write the decision to his college by saying " NAME OF THE COLLEGE" applied on your behalf ?? although his solicitor has applied on his behalf moreover they mentioned the reason of refusal for some of his out of time application dates and outcome in 2008 which actually never happened ...means the date HO mentioned on the refusal letter were totally wrong ..luckily he had those HO letter in which the dates are totally different from the refusal letter HO mentioned ....

Not only this as my friend never ever expected that outcome of his ILR will come to his College which he is not studying at the moment so all of his appeal time already exhausted and HO sent all his REMOVAL LETTERS and other right to appeal letter along with that refusal letter .....

now his solicitor has requested for to grant him more time for right to appeal and to stop his removal orders and so on .....because HO had made decision on 7th Feb 2014 which his college recieved on 13th Feb 2014 and on 14th Feb 2014 his college email him which my friend read on 26th March 2014 ....He didn't fone HO or inquire about his application during those 6 months as per his solicitor said that don't call HO they will write you but not his solicitor and neither my friend knew this till 26th March 2014 that his decision was already sent to the college with out any notification and his solicitor he clearly wrote his law form address in the corresponding address so HO SHOULD have to write the reply to the corresponding addresss mentioned on the form not to the college and how come any college can apply for any ILR application on behalf of any one ...

i can not mentioned the name of his college or the solicitor here however can confirm that both the college and law firm name is starting with "L" SO from here you can see who are actually dealing with the cases now a days in HO .....they can't even type the correct corresponding addresses ....

My friend is in big problem but he has faith IN ALLAH ...that Inshaallah one day he will get his ILR ...

so be careful of the HO clerical mistakes as well .....

Hi Deboy13, Sorry to hear sad news , By above info its really reckless response from HO . Hope you have quoted as new post for more Moderator advices as well. But don't loose hopes, concern with worthy solicitors.
Otherwise If you think its straight forward only option is to apply again using SET(LR), but not Ideal. Hope Allah makes easy ...

Deboye13, sorry to hear about that, it must be such horrible news to receive! If your application is straight forward, then it maybe purely the wrong form you have used (Set o). If your lawyer advised you to use this, you should complain (once you have established it really is the wrong form).

What I would do is get a second opinion from another lawyer, and see what they say. If it is just down to the form, try writing a letter to the HO explaining, but unfortunately, it might mean putting in a new form (Set LR).

There are some lawyers which are not too good, so always have to be careful with the advice they give. I paid £100 for a consultation once, and the lawyer was really unhelpful! Went to see another one for a fraction of the cost and he was really good!

Thank you so much all forum members especially those who are very active respondents. I really appreciate the great work you are doing here and that too free of charge.

I wish good luck to all who are waiting a decision on their application.

I hope HO sorts out these files quickly as it is really painful to wait. Trust me nothing is worse than waiting a decision on your visa application :)

Hi Zohaib,
It is a shame that you have to withdraw you LR application, but as I suggested to you before, I would have done the same. You and your Mrs will get your ILRs the same day next year and no hassle, although you have lost money but at least you realised at the right time to change to a better and safer option.
Thanks a lot for sharing the information, lots of other members who are in the same situation will get benefit from that.
All the best for your future SET(O) applications.
Kind regards

Hi Zohaib,

I respect your decision but I believe money today is better than money tomorrow and ILR TODAY IS EVEN FAR BETTER THAN ILR IN 1 YEARS TIME OR MORE CONSIDERING THE FUTURE IMMIGRATION POLICY. Even though one family member gets ILR TODAY, ONE CAN PLAY ON A SAFE CORNER. AGAIN, WISH YOU LUCK.
