Status if ILR denied

Post by iubus2005 » Fri May 23, 2014 8:38 pm

If I apply for ILR (while I still have 6 months left on my visa), and ILR is denied, what is my status? Can I continue to remain in UK till my Visa expires?

You can remain in the UK as the current visa you are on, remains valid. It does not make a difference if the new visa ie. ILR you apply for gets rejected.
Of course you can try to make the ILR a success.

Can others also confirm if this is really true? I thought I read at many places that you need to either appeal or leave the country within 28 days. Also, don't you have to submit the BRP card along with the ILR application? Do they return it if application rejected?

Cheers.

If you haven't breach any conditions, then your leave remains valid, unless they curtail your leave before it expires.
