Hi everyone,
I apologise if this issue has come up already but I'm reading through everything desperately looking for information and am hoping someone can help? I am in the UK on a Tier 1 (General) Visa - first granted on 27 March 2009 - and am now applying for ILR - my appointment is this Thursday, 22 May. When I first arrived to the UK, I worked for several months in a temp job I got through an agency. I have been trying to get a letter from them confirming employment, annual leave and dates of annual leave, but I kept getting passed around to different departments and told that they upgraded their computer system and don't have my file and will have to look for it etc. This was all done over the phone. I finally got someone this past Friday who offered to help and she emailed me the needed form (an internal agency form requesting the information) which I duly filled in and returned to her that afternoon. However, I don't think I will get the letter from the agency in time for my appointment on Thursday so I'm now in an absolute panic. On the advice of my solicitor, I have drafted a letter 'self-certifying' my dates of employment and annual leave absences and included all the email correspondence between myself and the agency regarding my interview and confirmation of employment as well as emails from expedia with flight details for all the relevant absences. Will this be sufficient or are they likely to reject this? If so, does anyone know if there is anything else I can provide?
Thanks so much for your help. Living here is my dream and I'm so scared it's not going to happen because I can't get this letter from the temp agency.
