Tier 2 G, what after 6 years ?

Post by habbuman » Wed May 28, 2014 3:14 am

Folks,

I'm on a Tier 2 ICT visa, having arrived here in December 2010. Seeing the new rule change which restricts one to a maximum of 6 years on a Tier 2 G, in the event of switching, what happens after you complete 6 years in total?

Does completion of 6 years mean you cannot work here anymore in the future as well?

Thanks,
H

no, after 1 year cooling off in home country if you have a CoS you can apply for entry clearance and return to the UK under T2G . Once back you will be eligible for ILR after 5 years (under current rules)

Thanks Manci.

Does the cooling off have to be in my home country? Can I not move elsewhere?

cooling off can be anywhere outside the UK but you have to apply for entry clearance from your country of residence
