Changing role in a Tier 2 Visa

Post by vv8910 » Fri Jun 10, 2011 9:06 am

Hi,

I am currently on a Tier 2 (General) visa - with a validity until 2012 End.
My employer may invariably extend it (the rules then allowing).
I am currently presented with a new oppurtunity within the same company and this would mean a role change. The basic pay is going upwards.

would this be an issue with regards to current work permit ?
I can still continue with my existing work permit ? or will they need to apply for new one ?
when extension takes place would this be questioned ?

Please help me answer these questions...

increase in a salary does not mean you need to carry out change of employment procedure.

However, if your job title, or job duties are now going to be different then you MUST notify UKBA via proper channels. Or you and your employer risk the wrath of UKBA whenever they find out!

Read para 190 - 198 of the policy guidance.

I'm in the same situation now. This new role which I will be taking within the same company will have me doing a different type of work. Not sure yet if the pay will rise but it should. Will notifying UKBA require a new application?
Also the link in the previous post is dead...
thanks!
