Post by DublinGuy_123 » Mon Jun 02, 2014 10:49 pm

If I am on two green cards one for 20 months then second for 4 months will I get a Stamp 4

In other words will I get stamp 4 after being on two different green cards for 24 months.

Hi,...

There is a minimum amount of time that you need to reside in Ireland before you can apply for permanent residency... if you are not EU, then the amount of time you need to stay in Ireland on working visas is 8 years.

So,.. sorry with only 24 months you can't get a stamp 4.

Good luck.

Not sure at all about this. At first, I would say no, but after re-reading the inis site, there might be a possiblity of a stamp 4. It seems to me you have 3 avenues: write a letter to the DoJ (can take a bit of time for a response), talk to citizens rights or talk to your local GNIB. Also, my interpretation re: green card and redundancy is that you would have 6 months to fine employment. A stamp 4 would allow you to stay and be self-employed (if desired) but it isn't the solution to long term residency. 5 years livng here....is.
