Type of application: (Switching / Extending) Extending- Change of Employment (Application by post)
2. If switching, category changing (switching) from
3. Date of expiry of current leave: Feb-2015
4. Number of dependants applying at same time:2
5. Date application posted: 12-05-2014
6. Date application received at UKBA: 14-05-2014
7. Date payment debited: I have been told that the payment for main applicant was accepted and for the dependants the payment had an error and the payment was rejected despite the fact that same payment information was filled for all of us.
8. Payment mode : Debit Card
9. Acknowledgement letter received: 16-05-2014
10. Biometric letter received: Still waiting
11. Date of biometrics enrolment:
12. Date of approval:
13. Date of return of passport and other documents:
14. Date (new) leave to remain valid from:
15. Date BRP received:

I received a letter on 27-05-14 (letter issue date 22-May-14) that the payment for both dependants had an error, and the payment page from the form for both dependants should be completed again and sent to a given address within 7 days of issue of letter. What I couldn't understand is how could they accept payment for me but not my dependants when the same payment information had been submitted for all of us. Any way, I completed the required payment pages, and mailed on the same day (i.e. 27-05-14) by next day special delivery, which was devivered next morning as I checked its status. However, there is still no payment deducted from my account yet for this time.

My start date with the new employer is 14-07-14 and I can't obvisouly resign from my current employer unless a visa has been approved for myself at least.

I phoned them on 27-05-14 to ask about this, but was told that payment is handled by a different company so they can't help with it. I was given an email address AppointmentExceptions@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk to request if at least a biometric letter for myself could be sent asap, however, I still haven't received this letter.

Feeling hopeless, and I can see myself in a position where I may need to resign from my current role without having a confirmation of visa approval for the next role. Absolutely disgusting situation :(

Hi null,

Have you received any answer regarding your biometrics?

I haven't receive my letter as well. I got my acknowledgment letter on the 15 May dated on the 13 May, but no biometrics so far.

Keep in contact and let me know if you got any answer, it will be very much appreciated.

Cheers!

Hi @a_cap, no I havent yet receive biometric letter up to now. If's very feustrating as UKVI refuse to give me any updates before 4 weeks from date of application (May7). It's worrying as I can see other applicants get their biometric letter at the same time with ack letter... is there any news of backlog or anything?

@194986 That is very quick! Did you apply normal post by yourself? Did they send biometric letter to your address? How many years you get the visa for? Please keep update when you get the passport back.

Cheers.

Did you apply for up to 3 years Tier 2G (£601)? Did your sponsor only assign your CoS for 2 years? Was it normal post or premium?
I asked for 5 years visa (£1202). Not sure if this probably why they have not yet send my biometric up to now.

>> I finally received biometric letter invitation after 4 weeks! But they missed to put my last name, only first and middle name. I still did the biometrics as couldn't wait any longer for them to reissue the letter. Hope it won't be a problem!

Should I call UKBA or just leave it until I hear approval? I just don't want to cause further delay. I need to start working asap. Any input would be appreciated.

imad83, have you had any response? Just am curious about the turnaround after they have received biometrics?

null1639--I waited 8 months in 2012 for my visa to be approved and missed weddings, funerals, and the birth of my niece but had no choice due to the fact that withdrawing your documents means withdrawing your application. In my view it is not smart and will not help to call outside of the timelines they give you, as this may delay things further, unless to confirm that they have the proper contact information (which is one thing you can ask them to confirm on the phone, if they've been corresponding with you, on address etc). It is worth flagging if their biometrics include the wrong information, especially name, as this could delay the process further.

Hello.

Unfortunately, my application to extend my current Tier 2 (General) was refused as my CoS didn't meet the annual salary requirement. The requirement was £27,000 for 39-hour week, but my salary was £27,000 for 40-hour week.

Anyway, here is my timeline for the refused application. I though someone might be interested...:

1. Type of application: Tier 2 extending
2. If switching, category changing (switching) from : N/A
3. Date of expiry of current leave: 01 July 2014
4. Number of dependants applying at same time: 0
5. Date application posted: 01 April 2014
6. Date application received at UKBA: 02 April 2014
7. Date payment debited: 3 April 2014
8: Payment Method: credit card
9. Acknowledgement letter received: dated on 8 April 2014
10. Biometric letter received: dated on 8 April 2014
11. Date of biometrics enrolment: 15 April 2014
12. Date of approval: refusal letter dated on 29 April 2014
13. Date of return of passport and other documents: 29 April 2014
14. Date (new) leave to remain valid from: NA
15. Date BRP received: NA

I hope this won't happen to you!

10. Biometric letter received: 07-Jun-14
