Confusion on English Requirement- Appointment is Next Week

Post by tan_123 » Tue Jun 03, 2014 10:42 am

Hi All,
I was going to final check list of AN form and need confirmation on the English requirement.
Point Base Calculator result:
Education: Chartered Accountant (from India): Point 35
English Skills : 0
But got the letter from the institute that my degree of CA was taught in English.

Is it that be fine?
If not, I still have time to postpone for couple of weeks, and what to do next?
Please advise.

I was not aware that a Chartered Account course is a degree level course in India.

The requirement is for the degree course from a recognised University to be taught in English. If the letter is issued by a recognised University on University letterhead, I presume it should technically meet the requirement. However, I would not be surprised if the UKBA (or is it the UKV&I) decline to accept it if it is not on the PBS Calculator.

I would say that your best bet is to
a) get a PBS printout showing 10 points for the course
b) get a quick recognised English test done
