SET(O) - Tier 1 gen dependent- Degree in english

Post by tier1seeker » Tue Jun 03, 2014 3:00 pm

Hello experts,

I am on T1G,applying for my ILR in July. Have a query about the English language requirement for dependants.

Situation:

1. Wife has a BE degree from a college in Bangalore. This college belongs to a university from Tamil Nadu.
2. The degree certificate shows Bangalore campus address, but does have the university name, logo etc
3. When my wife was initially applying for T1 dependent visa, I had asked her to get a letter from college saying the course was taught in English. However this document is now 3 years old and also lists the bangalore campus address.
4. Lastly, the PBS calculator lists the University, but you have to specify the state as Tamil Nadu. The qualification is also awared points for meeting the English language criteria.

Option 1: without statement of comparison from UK NARIC

1. Submitting the points calculator summary listing the qualification (from Tamil Nadu), as evidence for meeting English language criteria.

Option 2: with statement of comparision from UK NARIC

1. Get a statement of comparision from UK NARIC, which summarily states that the degree meets the English language criteria.

Question:

Is option 1 viable? My apprehension is that the degree certificate states Bangalore (Karnataka) campus address, but PBS calculator lists the university only for Tamil Nadu state. Any mismatch in information foreseeable?

thanks in advance for not getting confused and replying to my query.

cheers
