Hi all, it might be not new for ppl to see same topic or it may repeated again and again. But reason for posting again is might be the situation and my experience may be different. I am British citizen and working in London. Now want to move to Ireland to call my family from Pakistan. Contact with irish consalate in Karachi. Asked them about documentation I will need to apply for visa. They gave me the long list of documents like bank statement, letter from job , fees and so on....... I explain them about my statuation that I am EU citizen and I don't need such documentation. But they respond that if I can't provide that documents my visa will likely to be refuse. I cheated directive 2004/38/EC the list is very limited list of documents. I sent email to SOLVIT here in uk. They gave me response
If your non-EU family members need an entry visa, they should apply for one in advance from the consulate or embassy of the country they wish to travel to. If they will be travelling together with you, or joining you in another EU country, their application should be processed quickly and free of charge. However, documents your family members will need to include in their visa application may vary from country to country. You may wish to consult the harmonized list of supporting documents which can be found in annex II of the Visa Code (Regulation 810/2009). For precise information on which documents you will have to enclose contact consulate or embassy of the destination
. But for me I have not seen any thing like that. For me directive2004/38/EC is very clear and straight fwd. any suggistion from any body ....???
