URGENT help required - Cos amendment

Post by nomita » Wed May 21, 2014 12:11 am

Hello,

I have applied for the same day in person service and applied online as well as made the payment for a Tier 2 general visa upto 3 years.
However, now looking at the cos in detail i realize that the start and end dates are over 3 years!
I have not submitted my application yet, just made an appointment online for a Tier 2 general visa upto 3 years.
Do you think its all right to just add a sponsors note in the cos stating that the end date is changed to under 3 years? Or would the application be likely to get rejected. I dont have much time left to apply, so would like to make sure that it doesnt go wrong.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Manci,
Thank you so much for your reply. I am aware of the cos sponsor note. The only hesitation I have is that I am wondering if changing the work duration in this manner (i.e via the sponsor note) would be risky? If it is not a problem then thats perfect! Or would it be better to cancel the appointment and book another for the correct duration.

ask the sponsor to change the work end date with a sponsor note (you will have no problems because of this) unless you want to apply for 5 years and pay the higher fee.

Hi manci,

sorry for digging up this old topic, I am switching from Tier 1 (PSW) to Tier 2 (General), my company has given me CoS for 5 years, does this mean that I only have to pay the more than 3 years fee? Can I pay the upto 3 years fee? Will my application be rejected if I do so? Please let me know! Thank you!

Your application is unlikely to be refused but under the evidential flexibility provisions the caseworker will probably contact you and invite you to pay the higher fee or advise to get a new CoS. You may also ask the sponsor to change the work end date in the CoS by way of a sponsor note before you apply.

Note that if you are relying on a new entrant pay rate you can only do this if you don't apply for more than 3 years leave
