Notifying UKBA of Redundancy or Resignation

Post by rex90 » Wed Jun 18, 2014 10:24 am

Hi,

My current employer has decided to make me redundant (not served notice yet).
I have another employer who will soon help me apply for a new visa.

When can my current employer notify UKBA that I have been made redundant/resigned? I don't want this to interfere with the new application what so ever. If they do tell them, my leave will be curtailed 60 days after the notice? or is the notice period of 1 month count to those 60 days?

Thanks

your notice period is not relevant for immigration purposes.

At the end of the notice period, when your employment terminates, the employer has to notify the HO within 10 working days that they no longer sponsor you. The 60 day curtailment period will start from the date the HO make their decision to curtail your leave, not from the termination date.
