Hey all, greetings. Am totally new to this or any forum so please bear with me if I repeat somethings or get the etiquette wrong.
Many heartfelt congrats on the success stories that I am reading about!! Giving many of us a tiny glimmer of hope.
Well here is my little story...
Am married to my British wife and we have 2 children aged 14 and 10 years. Have lived together since 2002 but have been in a relationship since 1998.
However, I was sentenced for 15 months in 2005 for fraud, and also have some drink driving convictions. Home Office were not aware of me until 2013, even with my convictions!!
Just thought I would share and will keep you guys updated any negative or positive news, but I fear greatly that my past sins will see me removed back to Zimbabwe.

Arrived in UK on Student Visa 08/1994
Overstayed since 11/1998
Applied Set (M) 01/2014
Biometrics Done 01/2014
Refused Visa 02/2014
Applied Flr(FP) 17/05/2014
Biometrics ECHR 02/06/2014
Biometrics Done 11/06/2014
........waiting......

My last conviction was a one year driving ban 10/05/2013 for drink driving. I know that I have been the architect to my own disaster and am not proud of it, but just thought I would share my situation. Hopefully this will give hope to others whose situation is not as bleak!!

You are warmly welcome. I agree with believe2013 you need to declare the driving ban, however, you have a very strong case. No matter the out come of this pending application you are still going to overcome. 8/14 is just round the corner

Congratulations those of us who has been granted. And to those of us who hasn't yet received their BRP will have it soon in Jesus name.
I made my application in march 2012 and got refused in December 2012. The HO finally reconsidered my application and granted me 2.5 years instead of 3 years because I applied before July 2012. Has anyone got idea if they should have applied the old rules? Thank you and God bless you all.

@ Kukuwife and Believe2013, I thank you for your words of wisdom and advice. I disclosed all my convictions as feared that they might consider any ommission an attempt at deception.
Am seriously loving this forum....living in a village in the middle of the sticks, I felt that my case was unique and sharing my concerns with cronies and even my wife , well, they are supportive but do not know anything about the immigration minefield. Once again, thank you all, and congrats to all the success stories I am seeing.
P/S.... I report and sign on at a police station once a month and have never failed to attend.
However, I got a letter a few weeks ago from Enforcement Team, stating that I had missed my last one, and they were threatening all sorts. I went to the police station to clarify, and they assured me that they did not tell them any such thing, and actually phoned them in my presence stating this.
Has anyone experienced this or is it my mind working overtime suspecting any and everything. I suppose it could just be some clerical error.....just thought I'd share.

Hello guys I am new to this forum and would like your advice. I am a 20 years old male and in 12 months time i will have spent half my life here. My question is what are my chances if i wait 12 months and apply? The immigrant life is very hard and if the chances are low i think i will go back to my country.

So please honestly tell me whats the best thing to do? How strong/weak will my case be?

I'd be deeply grateful for any advice you guys give.

wellcome to the forum brother. I would say remain positive and hope for the best outcome. Basing on your story, I think
you have a strong case to be granted basing on ECHR. Regarding the convictions, I can see almost 9 years have elapsed since. It was good to disclose everything to them.
Stay positive like all of us. God will see us through.

Good Luck
