Regd. Work Start Date in COS

Post by sk10aaaa » Tue Jun 24, 2014 11:59 am

Hello,

I'm currently on Tier 2 General. I got a new Sponsor and they have given me a COS but the start date is mentioned in the past (18-June-2014). The COS is valid until mid of August 2014.

I'm planning to file an application 01-July-2014. Is it ok to have the work start date in the past while making an application?

Please help.

I dont see any issue with it. However, for reducing the risk factor, I would suggest that you get in writing from your employer (an email is also fine) that your joining date is revised to dd-mm-yyyy which can be a future date when you are planning to travel. Also, ask the employer to update SMS with a sponsor note stating the date change.

Thanks for your reply.

I spoke to my employer, couple of days earlier, and they said it is ok to have a date in the past.

Anyways I will check with them, if they can update the COS with a sponsor note.

BTW, I'm applying from inside UK.

thanks,
