Egyptian spouse visa to UK success!

Post by amisoliman » Sun Aug 05, 2007 12:57 pm

I'm an Egyptian man. I married my wife (British citizen) in Egypt. After 8 monthes we decided that it's better for us to live in UK. Everything was against us even the solicitor said that our case is very weak, i.e., wife claiming benifit, very little savings, age difference...

I and my wife never gave up hope. We did all the possible reseach and more and it was decided we will live together either in Egypt or UK.

This site and another site was of a great help to us. It was a big surprise that we got our spouse visa from the British embassy in Cairo the same day.

Please never give up hope whatever happens and put your trust on God.

The interview at the British embassy is a nice experience. However, we have to understand the mentality of the interviewer.

- They need reasonable reasons and proofs for every answer you give.

- They may ask trick question:

eg: Q. What's your wife's favorite color?
A. you simply say any color in a confident way. Actually, they don't know anything about your wife except what is in the application form. These questions are designed to check if it's genuine marriage or not.

The questions can be summed up as the following:

Q. Why do you want to come to the UK?
A. You should give reasons and proofs and NOT say only because I want to live with my wife.

Q. If you your application fails, how would you feel and what would you do?
A. You should say that you will wait for the refusal letter and correct the mistakes and lodge an appeal in the satated time. Never say that your wife will come to me because simply they will tell you OK bring her.

Q. How did you meet your wife?
A. ................

Q. They will ask you about the family of the British citizen (the sponsor, i.e., wife or husband) eg: the parents' names or the kids' age or birth dates and other relatives involved as this is all in the form in front of them.
A. ...............................

Q. Where your sponsor (wife or husband) live in the UK?
A. You have to memorize the address.

Q. What are you plans for the future when you get to the UK?
A. .........................

Q. Why did you marry a one who is older than you?
A. ..........................
- If she has a religion other than yours and kids are involved, it might be also a matter of discussion.

- The questions can be varied according to everyone's case, however, THEY ONLY KNOW WHAT IS IN FRONT OF THE THEM IN THE APPLICATION FORM.

- If you have a good English, it's recommended to take the interview in English. But if you don't feel confident then take it in your own language.

- Kindly make sure that you understand the questions well and don't jeopardize your answers. It's best to ask to repeat the question rather than giving a wrong answer.

That's all and I hope all that have genuine cases will benefit from that and from my heart I wish you all the best.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any help. I will do my best to help!

Good luck!
