Tier 2 ICT Short Term Staff Migrant: CoS query *urgent*

Post by PS1853 » Mon Mar 10, 2014 7:58 pm

Hi,

basic details:
Category applying under - ICT
Country of application - UK
City of Visa Application Centre - Bangalore
Duration of travel - 2 months

Query:
Assignment Dates on my COS are:
Date assigned: 11 Feb 2014
Expiry date (use by): 12 May 2014

Work Dates on CoS:
Start date: 01 March 2014
End date: 26 April 2014

But because of the issues with payments my dates of travel is changed to 22nd March 2014 – 20th May 2014.

Would the above be a problem?
Does my sponsor need to apply for a new CoS?

Thanks in advance!

your start date of 22 March instead of 1 March is not a problem provided you agreed it with your employer.

However, on this visa you are not allowed to work beyond 26 April. You can apply for an extension (with a new CoS) once you are in the UK

Thanks Manci..

One of my collegue had the following dates on his CoS:
Assignment Dates on COS:
Date assigned: 19 March 2013
Expiry date (use by): 20 June 2013

Work Dates
Start date: 06 April 2013
End date: 05 June 2013

He travelled back to india on 14th June 2013

Was he just lucky, becasue he had not raised a new CoS?

there is a difference between the visa expiry date and the work end date given in the CoS.

The individual can stay in the UK until the visa expiry date but can only work until the work end date.

Manci, I have a query,

I have been assigned granted Tier 2 General visa for 3 years.

My COS has start stated work date as 28/04/2014 but I will be traveling to UK (after completing my current notice period) on 12/10/2014. My sponsor has sent me the updated contract with new joining date. But will that be an issue when I arrive in UK during immigrations? Does my sponsor has to update the start date somewhere else as well?

Please reply.

not a problem but have the employment contract with you when travel to the UK. The sponsor cannot change the CoS once it has been used.
