HSMP form query on 'secondment'

Hi All,

In HSMP form, after Q36 (on page 6), there is a question as follows:

If you were on secondment during the period claimed, please complete the

following:

Country where job based:

Country of 1st secondment:

Country of 2nd secondment:

Is this something got to do with earnings in two different countries.

My situation is out of 12 months, I have worked in India for 10.5 months and

remaining 1.5 months in Finland.

India and Finland fall in different band of countries. So I had posted a

query in forum regarding how to calculate the earning points.

Meanwhile, does this question seem to relate to that.

any advice on this please...

I am not very sure on this but my understading is:

Country where job based: Base Location where you are actually employed

Country of 1st secondment: If you were in another country on a project

Country of 2nd secondment: If you were in another country on a project


As per HSMP guidelines they will consider the maximum time spend out of the last 12 months. For your case its India where you spent 10.5 months. You can prorate on this basis and calculate the salary for 12 months. However if you want to calculate it on actual basis i.e 10.5 months for India and 1.5months in Finland then you will have show the proofs for Finlad earnings.

So if you are employed in India, Country Where Job Based should be India. Country of 1st Secondment should be Finland.

This is my understanding.

Did you got any salary in Finland??

How you are going to provide evidence that you have worked in Finland for 1.5 months??

I have similar issue and I started new post wothout seenig yours("Query ergarding secondment") . I went to US for around 1 month on B1 visa. Didnt got any salary there, no bank statement or tax returns in US.

As far as I know, Caseworker will prorate salary only when we provide "REQUIRED" evidence for both the countries.

Others could you please help. I know lots of people are going out on short term visit out of country.
