I'm super excited to go home, open the door and see if there is an exciting brown envelope on the mat! Now I've posted about it there probably won't. But here is hoping that this week will bring good news for all of us early March applicants :-)
We were March the 5th, but didn't get invited for biometrics for ages. I will post the full timeline when I get home :-)

Just another thought... We got our invite to do biometrics later than some people who applied later than us. We payed by cheque. I wonder if this delayed us? We were told they don't even put your application in the pile to be looked at until first your payment is cleared. This then triggers the biometrics. Once this is done you then can go in the decision pile.

So a debit card payment would be instant, which is why those who applied just after us would jump ahead of us as we had to wait for our cheque to clear.

Just a thought?

askim @@@@ askim

yes that is understandable that the application will only be come under consideration after when the payment is cleared. A cheque does slow the process for up to atleast 2 weeks unfortunately. I am talking from personal experience regarding my past student visa applications. I hope its not the delay in your case. But generally everyone would advise to pay by postal order to UKBA and second preference they say is to pay by debit card but then with debit card you have to go through the risk of getting the card declined etc as banks are funny the way they do their security checks etc.
wish you best of luck

I am also waiting...
applied via checking service.

on 07 March..

Still waiting :(

Re paying with cheque, I did this and I don't think it delayed anything; application sent Feb 28 (SET M), Documents back July 3, BRP received July 7.

Hope that helps and wishing everyone the best of luck.

It's just that people who applied after us got invited for their biometrics 8 days before. I know the payment was ok, so why the delay? It's the only reason I can think of? In possibly trying to be too logical about a system that sometimes defies logic!

Congrats to everyone who had got their ILR. Fingers crossed for the rest of us that it comes soon!!!

Finally the payment for my application was taken. Of course, after I paid by cheque! I will never trust Nationwide Credit Card ever again.
I've been this morning to Citizen Advice Bureau and they were really helpful in regards to my credit card injustice with me. Now Ive contacted the Financial Ombusdman.

Will the strike today slow things down again?
18 weeks in and I really had hoped for a decision by now. I'm 16 weeks pregnant and the stress with the waiting can't be good for me.

I just phoned and got through, so they must be working as normal. Our application is STILL being processed! I asked her if there was any problem and she said "no it's just being processed. They will contact you if there is a problem"

SET M

Applied on 13th of March Via Settlment Checking services. The lady said your case is very straight forward and you'll hear back really soon...! Its been 17 weeks now...!!

Wait is almost excruciating cause you have put on hold almost everything...! Hope they speed up their process and make it around 1 to 2 months for future applicants..!

Good luck everyone!

@seeker26

We were told the same thing by the checking service and we are now over 18 weeks (they told us it would be three months max!)

It's so frustrating. If they just gave us a date or a way to track our applications?!

No news for us as well(((( :( :( looking forward for the next week.... I'm agree that we need to wait just 1 or 2 weeks more. That will be 4-4,5 months for us who applied in March.
