How long for dependent visa to be approved approximately?

How long for dependent visa to be approved approximately?

I'm applying to be a dependent if a tier 1 exceptional talent migrant. On the website it says it will probably be done in a matter of days. But I have heard different amounts of time from different people. The last I heard, settlement visas take up to 24 weeks. Is this a settlement visa I am applying for? Could it really take that long?

You are not applying for a settlement visa (spouse of person with ILR or a British Citizen). It is a different category from the one you are applying for with difference requirements.
