Post by Son_of_Soil » Thu Jun 05, 2014 4:10 pm

Hi
Does this 15 hr of free nursery applies to ALL parents regardless of immigration status and income etc?

i have a daughter who will be 2 in september 2014 and she got british passport and me and wife have ILR. I am playing a lot of money to the nursery at the minute and jus wondering if there will any free hours when she turns 2.

Not sure about ALL parents regardless of immigration status but you are settled and thus can apply for any benefits you are eligible for.

However the free 15 hours start from 3 years of age under normal circumstances. There are some special circumstances under which it starts applying from 2, see the link below for details.

Hi,
I have spoken to many people every on says we are eligible to use 15 hrs free early education irrespective of our immigration status. At the same time, I have recently come across below statuary guidelines for LA about 15hrs from https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... rities.pdf
On Page 8 it says
"A1.10 Ensure that two-, three- and four-year-old children moving to England from another country can access a place on the same basis as any other child in the local authority area, provided they meet the relevant eligibility criteria for their age3.
3 This is also relevant where a child or a child’s parents is categorised as having ‘no recourse to public funds’."

Can any one explain about this statement?

Regards,
RK
