Post by mma034 » Sun Jul 13, 2014 7:48 pm

Hello there

I want to sponsor my wife in UK. Financial requirements is £18600.Here is my situation now:

I working with Tesco part time (8 years) with a Annual salary about £10,000

Also with an agency less than 6 months... but I will earn about £10,000 gross by combining last six months on pro rata.?

Can I use both these source to sponsor my wife ??

You suggestion will be appreciated... Thanks.

Category A cant combine with category B together.
Unless you work 6 months for your second job. Then will be consider both as category A.
On category A, for salary , in past 6 months, the minimum
amount will be times 12 then calculate into income...

Well as far as I know Category A can be used for ONLY one job and the reason behind category A can not be combined with Category B is to prevent people doing random jobs and showing the earnings of £18,600.

Please help me If I am wrong??

Indeed, A and B can't be combined.

You can't obviously combine cat A and B,but the the content of your question is actually different to combining cat A& B?
@ Amber, could you please check the question again, is it true he can't combine 2 jobs?

Two Cat A jobs should be ok.

hi

In the financial requirement guidance box of combination there is no tick sign against the category A combination.
Does that mean in category A only one job should carry threshold level and no combination within the category A.
because within the categor B there are combinations option, and in their examples as well combination options are within B category but not with category A.

will be highly appreciated

The issue is that Appendix FM 1.7 is rather ambiguous and although it doesn't say you can't have more than one Cat A job, it may be safer to apply under Cat B, insofar as the combined income over the last 12 months meets or exceeds the Financial Requirement and that combining the current annual salaries meets or exceeds the Financial Requirement.

Thanx Amber fr ur response

Dont u think if a person does non-salaried job since 6 months that will automatically be considered in category A, the combination option is that person is not getting the threshold in one single job thats y person is seeking another job to meet the threshold level, is that ok.

will be highly appreciated

If you are in both jobs for 6 months or more then use Cat A, but make it clear especially with non salaried employment that you do in fact meet the requirements. I may have gone overboard with documented my earnings and meeting the requirement but as I was paid weekly, there was a lot to look through and I didn't want anything overlooked/miscalculated.
