Minimum Bachelor's Degree Requirement

I want to know that what is minimum acceptable Bachelor's Degree Qualification to HSMP. Simple UK Bachelor Degree or UK Bachelor (Honours)Degree? or Any one of them??

It need not be an honours degree.

How could it be? since one of my colleague just cleared HSMP and EC, passed out from the same university as mine? When I checked by phone with NARIC, they confirmed the degree from my university is equivalent to UK Bachelor (ordinary). Is this Bachelor (ordinary) degree will be enough to get through the HSMP process?. Besides that I am providing letter from my institution as a proof of my English abilities, instead of IELTS!!!! will it be ok?
