136. You must confirm your business activity and that you are trading.

Business activity

You must provide one or more documents from the following list covering (either together or individually) a continuous period commencing before 11 July 2014 up to no earlier than three months before the date of your application to confirm your business activity:

▪ Advertising or marketing material that has been published locally or nationally, showing your name (and the name of the business if applicable) together with the business activity. This can include printouts of internet advertising or, where your business is trading online, confirmation of your ownership of the domain name of the business’s website;

▪ Article(s) in a newspaper or other publication showing your name (and the name of the business if applicable) together with the business activity. This can include an online link to the publication;

▪ Information from a trade fair(s) that you have had a stand or given a presentation to market your business. This must show your name (and the name of the business if applicable) together with the business activity;

▪ Personal registration with a trade body linked to your occupation.

Can someone explain what does it mean?. Does it mean advertisements must be published before 11 July 2014 ?

Will they accept the flyers, and advertisements published in news paper after the said date (11 July 2014)?

If a person registered with a trade body after 11 July, will accept or not ?

@ antonio22, with the new rule, trading/business activities should have commenced before 11 July 2014 and should also be continuous. Advertisement is part of the business activities and to answer your question, they might use that as an excuse for refusal if you cannot present proof of advertisement before 11 July.

Just a quick one.
Are emails now sent to succesful tier 1 enterpreneur visa applicants from outside the uk by the british embasssy to say their applications have been approved and visas issued prior to the collection of their passports from the visa application centers.

Can I challenge if they refuse my visa on the ground of advertising material published after the July 11. Because home office changed its rule with immediate effect and its very unfair.

@ antonio22, It is a possibility to challenge them, but winning the case might be very tricky as HO will pick other issue on why you were not running your business prior to 11, July 2014. HO usually pick other minor faults when applicants don't follow rules according to the book.

But its not a bad idea to challenge them as HO have always been proof to be wrong on several cases.

Guys in application form it says that " business activity" should be present before 24th June ...not 11 july...So it gets even more tricky ..

I have everything before 11 july but after 24 June...Can I still apply?

Does it mean one of the business activity proof should exist before 24 June like web or publication?

Can someone clarify if we need to submit all the marketing material like adverts and article in newspaper and trade shows before this date or just adverts in gumtree in more than enough?
