Housing Benefit and tenancy agreement

Post by nadeem toheed » Thu Jul 17, 2014 1:34 pm

Hi AMBER,
Could you please guide me?
Me and my partner got ILR with children’s having British Passport, We want to apply Housing Benefits as we qualify for it but there is a bit problem with tenancy agreement. My new landlord just gives me one peace of paper (which don’t show the amount of rent) but I do have the old tenancy agreement with rent amount on it
I was paying 600 a month according to my old one but new landlord increase the rent to 725 a month
What do you suggest, which tenancy papers, I need to send to council (Both or …..)? How we can satisfy to council regarding the actual rent?

Always Appreciate
Nadeem

Get your landlord to confirm the rent in writing.
