Birth Certificate -Bangalore

Post by santoshkumar » Wed Aug 08, 2007 2:29 pm

Hi All,
I wish to apply for hsmp. As of now I am staying in Bangalore.
I dont have Birth certificate (in English or Native Language). All these days I was using my 10th marks card / Driving license for date of birth proof.

The question which I have is, do I need to get an original birth certificate in English for hsmp processing?

If yes then how do I get the same in Bangalore ( what is the procedure )

I would appreciate any help in this regard.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Santosh.

As far as I know there is no requirement to supply your birth certificate for an HSMP application.

By the way, why aren't you using your passport as proof of date of birth? Any UK official is far more likely to trust a passport than a dodgy looking drivers license.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

If it is a full driving license, with a photo, this will do as proof of age.
