Partner Visa from Canada

Post by christinp » Mon Jul 21, 2014 3:55 am

Hi Everyone,

I have recently submitted my applications for spousal sponsorship to the UK. I am from Canada and lived in the UK for 5 years. I left last year when my Post-Study work visa expired. I have since married my partner and want to move back to the UK. I have booked an appointment for July 30th for biometrics, however I am lost of what supporting documents I need to send. Do I need to have all my partners bank statements, etc with me when I go to that appointment? Time is running out and I thought I could just use online bank statements etc, but it doesn't look like that will be possible.

Please give me some guidance as I am really lost into this whole process.

Many thanks,

Christin

I'm reading that document now, but it is quite lengthy.

My partner has been employed (salaried) for the same company for 9 years. I have gathered from this document that he needs to provide the following documents. Please correct me if I am wrong:

1) 6 months worth of payslips
2) Letter from employed confirming employment
3) 6 months worth of bank statements

All these documents need to be on official letterheads, correct? My main concern is that I won't have them for my biometric appointment on Wednesday, July 30th. Is this a problem? Do I also need to fill out Appendix 2?

They do need to be submitted - and yes - you need to complete appendix 2.

Thanks everyone! In the process of getting all those documents together now.

Do I also need an photocopy of his passport and birth certificate?

You don't need to submit his birth certificate but the copy of his passport must be legally certified.

Thank you for all your help! It is greatly appreciated.

Here are the things I think I need to submit:

1) Mortgage statement
2) Bank statements (for 6 months)
3) Payslips (for 6 months)
4) Letter from employer stating employment start date, salary, etc.
5) Undertaking form
6) Notarized copy of passport

I will also be including marriage certificate and proof of relationship. Is there anything else I need to submit?

You need more than this and some of the documents you've listed need to follow certain requirements or I'm afraid,it will be refused.
You need proof that you have met, evidence of communication & contact with your spouse, evidence that you've married, that is your marriage certificate, if you've divorced b4,evidence of accommodation, letter from employer& contract of employment.
Your spouse employment letter should state this points
1.employment & gross annual income
2.length of employment
3.the period he's been paid the amount relied upon
4.type of employment,if it's permanent or temporary
The employment letter is so important that decision can be delayed if not well stated.
Proof of English, don't know if Canadians are exempted otherwise you need to proof this as well.
Hope someone can add one or 2 things.

Canadians are exempt from the language requirement.

Thanks for all your help, I have all those documents listed thus far.

The letter from my partners employer states all information you noted!

Any other tips would be great!

Many thanks,

Christin
