Tier 2 in NHS with Appropriate Salary

Post by tansul » Wed Jul 23, 2014 3:48 pm

Hi

I am working in NHS hospital as permanent in Training Department on Band 2, my salary bracket is High Cost Area Allowance which will be 5% of your basic salary, minimum £942 to a maximum of £1,632 per annum. I start my job in June 2014 but rules change in July? but my HR said you can't meet the requirement for appropriate salary which is £20500. Before I have PSW I am working as permanent last 2 months before last 7 months I was working from agency.

Please can you tell me any way to get COS from my NHS Trust.

Regards,

It is possible my dependent can move on Tier 2 visa, and what's condition she need for Tier 2 visa?

Kind Regards,

Tansul

Reading between the lines I believe you are currently employed by the NHS but previously by an agency.
The job role does not meet the £20500 threshold for tier 2 general and therefore your employer is unable to issue you with a COS.

The job role you currently hold - do you know what the SOC code is?
I have a feeling that the role you are currently filling might not meet the NQF6 level required.
I know the NHS can be low payers but I would have thought that a NQF6 role would pay at least the bottom threshold salary.

As for your dependent - they can't switch to tier 2

To clarify, couldn't the dependent apply for a Tier 2 from out of country, if they have a job that can sponsor them? (Including passing the RLMT?)
