English language requirement

Post by MSaxp » Fri Jul 25, 2014 5:18 pm

Hi all,

I am an EEA national, 9 years in the UK (1 studying) and thought its about time i got my british citizenship.

Last time i checked, I only had to do the Life in the UK , now it appears that i also have to prove i can speak English.

Either way, I have a Cambridge certificate of proficiency (from 2002 - Grade A) and a MSc in the UK (Lancaster).

Questions are:

1) I assume either is sufficient. Do i have to prove that the masters is of an acceptable level according to NARIC?
2) Do i have to attach the original or a copy of the degree to my naturalisation application? Can that just be copied as part of the nationality checking process?

thank you!

Mike

Any ideas?

Do i need to prove that my MSc in the UK was taught in English?

Thanks,

Mike

An MSc received in the UK needs no further validation and will meet B1 English on its own, in addition to LIUK.
