Work permit: Can the person stay in Dublin as a visitor when

Post by Peg » Sat Aug 11, 2007 10:20 am

Im from Hong Kong. I've got a job offer as a one year temporary special needs teacher in a primary school when I was holding my working holiday visa. The principal is very nice and willing to let me apply the work permit. I sent the application in early July. But because of the FAS requirement, I have to re-send to the application now. I am flying to Dublin tonight and thought it would be better and quicker to handle it in person because I need to get the permit before September. I am coming as a visitor because I don't need any visa to enter Ireland for travelling. Then I found from the employment web stating that:

"You will be refused a work permit where you: Entered the state on the basis that you are not taking up employment, for example, as a visitor."

So, would my coming to Dublin a mistake that give them a reason to reject my application?

What should I do? Should I leave Dublin immediately after I hand in the application form??????

PLEASE HELP!!
