Applying to Tier 2 with Simple Caution - URGENT

Post by David81 » Sun Aug 10, 2014 10:21 am

Hi friends

I am currently applying for 5-year extension of my Tier 2 visa.
2 years ago - in Aug 2012, I received a police caution for common assault. On the Tier 2 application form, do I need to mention the caution? If so, where do I mention the caution, as there is no question in the form asking about good character or non custodial offenses? Please help as my application is going in this week. Really appreciate your time and support.

Write it on a separate piece of paper.

Thanks Amber for your quick response.

Is this the norm? Is it compulsory to declare the caution for Tier 2 application? The reason I ask is that on an ILR application form, you have the 'Good Character' question whereas on a Tier 2 form, you don't. Do they intentionally not want to know about cautions, or is it that cautions are meant to be declared only in the case of settlements or ILR ? Thanks and appreciate your time.

You should declare any criminality.

Thanks, Amber. I will mention the caution in a separate sheet of paper. It was due to a domestic argument, and was a misunderstanding, has not been repeated and will not be.
Is there any format followed in declaring the caution, i.e. should I just mention it and leave as is, or explain a bit more as to why I received, what happened, and that it will not happen again..."?
Also, is there any likelihood of my tier 2 extension application being refused purely because of the caution received 2 years ago?

Thank you!
David81.

It will not be refused. Better to mention it.
