Sponsor applied COS very early...

Hello dear,

My visa is expiring on 3rd feb-2015 and i have spoken with my sponsor regarding visa extension in jan-15. but my sponsor has applied my COS last week which is 7 months in advance. what i supposed to do now, can i apply my visa now after receiving my COS? or it has to be 28 days before my visa expire but till that my COS will expire.

Advice Please?
