0300 123 2253 Is this the number you called on ?Knut wrote:HI gang,
Just an quick update. I called to check on my application, which was sent exactly 3 months ago. I had previously called and they had said that it was "under consideration", using the generic phrase.
However, this time, I was able to get someone who was a bit more precise - he was very friendly and he said "it was under consideration, but had yet to be assigned to a case worker." So it's still just waiting in the queue this whole time, collecting dust.
I applied as a spouse of a British citizen through NCS. While I acknowledge that there is no expectation of service before 6 months, I did lose out on two good jobs in my field that required me to be a Commonwealth citizen. I had hoped to have this some sort of progressed by now. The employer would have waited a few months, but not until Nov/Dec, which is the 6 month timeline from when I applied in May (the first day I was eligible).
While this situation is extremely frustrating, there is very little I am afraid I can do, so for my own sanity, I just have to be pleasantly surprised when it happens and realize that government are large and bureaucratic.
Best of luck to you all,
Ryan

The fact that others got the answers earlier doesn't mean we would too. For all we had been told everywhere is that the decisions take up to 6 months. Noone lied and noone promised anything sooner. We've all got our ILR/PR cards so are free to travel (unless some genius decided to send everyth off directly, rather than use NCS) and that should warm our hearts. Prepare for 6 months and be pleasantly surprised if you get the answer sooner.
Also, there is a backlog of passport applications, so there is no point in stressing over the timeline as you would just join another queue to get your passport and moan over there )) let it go, everything will be fine!
STOP STRESSING OTHERS! If I were an MP whom my constituent contacted, I would tell him to contact me after 6 months and not a day before. UKBA is already under the cosh for messing up passport backlog issue and your letter won't make any difference until 6 months are up.
You sound like you should be a spokesman for the UKBA, lovey! Since when medicrity and incompetence are justifiable. Since you claim to be so chilled out and relaxed about the waiting time, then do you come on here to check people's timelines? £906 is a lot of money to pay for such a shoddy service. Some of us need travel for work, and need a decision to be made in a reasonable time scale.
If you "were an MP"? Well... obviously you are NOT, and will never be judging by the tone of your post. Do us a favour, please. Just Chill out, relax and stop coming on here checking people's timelines and posts because this shows you are not that chilled out! Douche!
Congratulations penny123! It really gave us some hope.penny123 wrote:Eligibility criteria: 5 years Tier2 + 1 year ILR

Yes, letter will come by Royal Mail.duffy wrote:Hi all,
Just wanted to give an update and some hope to those still waiting. I applied by NCS on 10 May and received a letter yesterday 15/8/14 from my local council congratulating me on my successful application and giving me a date for my citizenship ceremony. Although I am yet to receive my letter from the Home Office, I am hoping that comes soon, I do have a redirect on my mail so that could be delaying it.
Can anybody confirm if the letter comes by Royal Mail?
i know some councils allow saturdaysskilled_migrant wrote:Yes, letter will come by Royal Mail.duffy wrote:Hi all,

Are you sure about the application date? because 10 May 2014 was Saturday.
