Minimum Salary to Tier 2 (General)

Post by gaurav0098 » Fri Apr 04, 2014 8:55 am

Experts,

can you please clarify what is the Minimum Salary requirement for Tier 2 (General) visa.

I read it on UKBA website that it is £20,300 (The occupation that I am discussing is not a shortage occupation)

Also while browsing through different blogs I read that this has been recently changed to £35,000

Which version is correct and upto date? Is £35,000 required to be eligible to apply for ILR in future?

Please note that the COS is still not issued.

Hi Gaurav,

Minimum salary is $20,300 at the moment and will be £20,500 if your COS will be assigned after 6th April, 2014. You can only claim points for appropriate salary if your salary is whether the above amount or the appropriate salary for your chosen SOC job code (whichever higher). For example: if the relevant salary for your job code is 18K then you should be paid £20,300 (£20,500 after 6th April). And if the relevant salary of your job is for example 25K then you should be paid £25,000 to claim points for Salary.

35K or the relevant salary of the chosen job code (whichever is higher) is for the ILR purposes but this will be implemented in sometime in 2016 ( I think April 2016).

I hope this will hep.

Thanks,
Hassan

Hi Sohaib,

35K is at the time of ILR only. Your employer must provide you with a letter at the time of ILR that they are still willing to employ you and agree to raise the salary at least 35K (from the ILR application date)

I hope this will help.

Thanks,
Hassan
