OCI becoming Indian citizen

hi all

a question just out of curiosity.
had anyone tried to become Indian citizen after obtaining OCI? indian passport website says one can apply for indian citizenship after living 5 years with OCI and one year living in India but how easy it is? how about with minors?
pls just share your thoughts and experiences if anyone had done it

yes, the above is correct for adults
as minors can't renounce their citizenship until they turn 18, they need to wait until they attain that age.

Actually, there is no need to wait for 5 years long if the OCI holder is previously Indian National. There is another section which states one residing in India for a year can be Indian national again.

thats interesting. Can you share the link or some more informaton of that section which allows for indian citizenship after 1 year when any indian held indian passport earlier after becoming OCI?
