Damaged Bachelors Degree Certificate

Post by ent » Tue Aug 14, 2007 1:25 pm

Hi,
My bachelors degree certificate is damaged. The picture framers glued the damn thing to the wooden backing board and then framed it. I have the original but it is as mentioned, glued to the wooden backing board.

Will the authorities accept this or must i provide secondary evidence to state that I have completed my degree and it was conferred etc. If I have to provide secondary evidence, can someone tell me what I should provide please.

Thanks
T.

Well, I would say Don't take risk.
I applied with official transcript along with UK NARIC certificate, but I got rejection saying that I should have degree.

Send that DEGREE as current state, if possible get a duplicate degree.

Good luck

You mean to say they said they want the diploma and their objection wasn't the degree wasn't sufficient?

Hi, I do have my academic transcript. It is just that it is huge and it is stuck to a piece of wood. I also have papers from the university - melbourne university in australia stating that i completed my degree it was conferred etc.

I sent the official transcript
but I did note that the diploma was too large to send through the mail. It would have to be taken off the wall and then rolled up in one of those containers to avoid damage. And I would hope a certified transcript in an unopened envelope would suffice. I think you would have to say just as much, send them a picture of how it is getting ruined from being dismounted and that you couldn't bring yourself to rip it off the wood and destroy it, it is a precious document they should appreciate that.

For me Diploma Certificate = Degree certificate
What I provided them
1. Official Trranscripts and DMC
2. UK NARIC Letter
3. Exceptional consideration, that my degree certificate lost somewhere (offcourse I tried to convienced them)

They refused my application saying that you should have sought a duplicate........

Hope this helps

ent,

Get a notary public to stamp and sign the copy of your original certicate and other docs you want to include. That will be sufficient for HO.It is always accepted.

Sucess!!
