I heard about some interviews recently. The main purpose is to check whether applicants speak English as they claim in the certificates they sent with the application, these applicant that are chosen to be interviewed might have taken their English test at a college or centre that the Home office have suspicion about.

was it done from college or from Englishexamcentre etc ?

your feedback will help others if they have used the same place to get the B1 and get ready for an interview

Hi all

Countdown for that much awaited brown envelope continues. Meanwhile I have a question that I hope someone can shed light on. I recently got married after sending in my naturalisation application. I would like to use a double barrell surname incorporating my husband' last name and my maiden name. Can I use my marriage certificate when appying for my british passport or will there be some kind of different process. I am aware that the naturalisation certificate will be issued under my maiden name.

Hi,

Any update about the number of application per day

The current observation seems not more then 5 application a day

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ember-2013

Is there any legal or media where we can speak out our grievances?

thanks,
Sip

How did you come up with only 5 applications a day "Sip" ?
From 1 January 2013 to 30 September 2013 there were 109150 AN applications received and that's only from Jan to end of Sep.
Even if you count 365 days that makes 299 per day - not 5

Hi,

What I said, was that if you look the application approval timeline then, most of the applications after May this year were astonishingly slow.

Hi,

I am quite upset.
Application date 12 May, 2014

100+ days and still waiting

At some point I thought of going to see local MP or some media house.

We all are mostly in highest tax bracket and still are being treated as if we are being obliged ..!!

We need to get united and raise our voice

thanks,
Sip

92 days and counting. Very disappointing when the historical average is 48 days :-(

End to end including weekends for May it is taking 110 days...which is definitely slower but I guess it may improve as you wont have too many passport applications (I guess)

Am in despair of how long this process is likely to take. As applications earlier in year were taking 1- 2 months to be approved, I made travel plans around this. I applied early in June, and am travelling for 6 months from end of September.

But it is realistically looking like applications are going to take 4- 5 months for people who have applied in end of May/June. There have been no applications approved in 10 days according to this site. It's like things are truly at a standstill. I keep checking each day, hoping that applications will be rushing through and being approved. There are still applications not approved from end of April- that's already 4 months! I only have 3 1/2 months- thought that would be plenty of time :(

Please let us know if anyone has had an approval in last 10 days?

Hi all,

Looks like tthere isn't any news today regarding the May's applications? It's been ages since I've applied .I applied on the 27th of May. Still waiting. Very bad service for the amount of money we payed. They seam to be so quick in taking the money but very slow in responding.
