1. According to UKBA, a comprehensive sickness insurance plan is a policy that will cover the costs of the majority of medical treatment you may receive in the UK. You may have to show you have this insurance in order to be allowed to live in the UK as an EEA national or their family member. For more information about this please see the UKBA website.
2. The ‘comprehensive sickness insurance’ sold by Freedom Health is a Freedom Elite private medical insurance policy that includes full in-patient treatment and full out-patient treatment. For full details about the level of cover please see Freedom Elite Keyfacts document.
3. Freedom Health assumes no responsibility regarding the success of your application for a work permit or registration certificate where a comprehensive sickness insurance policy is needed. Although we are not aware of any Freedom client that was rejected due to an unsuitable insurance policy bought from us, each application is assessed individually and we cannot guarantee its positive outcome. 4. In order to pass the UKBA requirements you will need to have a live policy for at least 12 months. If you cancel your insurance during this period we are required to inform the UKBA which might lead to the cancellation of your visa/ work permit/ registration certificate. 5. The “one month free” offer is applied only when you buy your health insurance policy online. This is not valid in conjunction with any other offer. Offer is available by invitation only via our key partners. The offer is only available when you sign up and pay for your cover by direct debit or continuous credit/debit card mandate online.
6. The “one month free” offer will be applied at the end of your insurance year as follows: you will not pay anything (or only £0.01) in the 12th month of your policy year. Any cancellation of your policy before the 12th month of your policy will automatically invalidate the offer.
NOTE : your EEA Family member do not necessarily need to be cover but the EEA member needs to be as you are a PHD Student and you require Comprehensive sickness insurance to qualify you as a "qualified person" under Regulation 17 of EEA reagutions 2006, Further more, the regulation was later transpose to say once the EEA member is a qualified person the residing member state should issue registration certificate that compliment your treaty right as EEA member excersing such right .
With you been a qualified person , this automatically make your family a qualify person as described ( Family Member) , More so such family member need to certify some certain clauses placed by the residing state . Better still go to court but on your first appearance make sure as you enter the room you are qualify person , handed to the judge , then case close ( is an in country case , judge decision is based on that same day - so you must be qualify) . good luck hit me up for any other stuff
