This was a straight forward application according to the lady at Camden. My advice to EEA nationals would be to take the time to get PR first and then it simplifies the further process. Thanks for all the information provided in this forum. This is a great service. To those waiting - as difficult as it is - just realise that it might take 4-5 months to get a response at their current rate of processing.

I'm an EEA national as well and I was wondering if you applied right away after you had 5 years marriage or an year after that?

chrisonzen - I applied for PR as an EU national exercising Treaty rights over a five year period. Once I got the PR confirmed, I applied immediately for citizenship based on marriage to UK citizen. Otherwise I would have had to wait 12 months to apply for citizenship.

Thanks "pol pol" I didn't apply for a PR because it says that we don't need to as we get it automatically.
I applied just after I had my 5 years marriage to my British wife and hope everything will be alright.

6 months is maximum time. Your's gone far over this limit.

Hi I submitted my application through NCS on 6th may and fee was debited on 16th may.

I got a letter from Local council for ceremony on 4th September though I have not received any letter from Home office.

Does it mean my application has been approved by Home office and I should be expecting letter from them soon.

Or I need to call local council to postpone ceremony date ?

Spoke to a lady at the NCS Newcastle today and she advised that the passport backlog issue had a big impact on the Naturalisation processing time this summer. Tried ringing the Home Office nobody picked up for 10 mins. Planning to go on a long trip on the first week of October.
