Hi,
I did my 1st extension in a similar pattern like yours
Like 2 months prior to visa expiry ,I got extension of 2+ Years from the visa expiry date since there is hardly 2 months in between.Again it's upto the case holders decision.
You should be fine to

For 2nd extension it will be 3 yrs and it was date decision was made, even though my application was within 28 days of expiry.

Thanks Guys for your valuable response!

@O_Relly >>

Here is my Tier1 G visa details

->First entry Clarence -9th Nov, 2009
->1st extension -12th OCT, 2012 (granted leave to remain for 2 yrs until 9th Nov, 2014)
As you said in your previous response, I'll get 3 yrs for 2nd extension. Is this true in my case? please confirm.

It would be great !!

Thanks
Naveen

Hello, We just went for my wife's first extension as dependent(post July 2012), her visa was expiring on 15th Nov and we went on 25th Aug which was within 3 months of her expiry. But sadly she got her visa until 25th Aug+ 3 years.

Is there something we can do? The problem here is we have to go for another extension which is waste of another £2000 pounds.
Please help.

If she is on a dependent visa she should have been awarded the same validity as that of the main applicant.

Unfortunately appears No. The visa is granted from the day the decision is made and not when your visa expires. This seems to be the case even if application is made within 28 days of visa expiry.
