T2 visa on old passport

Dear Moderators,

I recently received my T2 general visa for 5 years and after I received my visa since I had holidays, I applied for a new tatkal passport, reason being the old passport having the T2 visa was running out of pages.

I am aware that the visas in the old passport remain valid even though the passport is cancelled.

Do I have to inform my employer about the new passport number before traveling or is it ok if I tell them after I report back to work in the UK office? Will there be an issue at immigration in the airport.

As long as you are on the payroll of your employer, it should not be a problem since you'll be carrying the old passport as well.

However, what is stopping you to provide the new passport no. to your employer? Nothing wrong in doing that!
